KCB Bank Uganda has officially launched the second edition of the KCB East Africa Golf Tournament, which is scheduled to tee off on 27 June 2026 at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa.
Organized in partnership with ICEA LION Insurance, Kenya Airways, CFAO, and Ruby Hospital, the tournament is expected to deliver a premier regional golfing experience under the theme “Roar on the Green.” The event will attract more than 180 golfers from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The competition is open to golfers of all ages with a valid handicap and registration under a CDH ID. Participants will compete in four-ball teams, where the highest score per hole contributes to the team’s overall performance.
The tournament will be played under the Stableford format, a points-based system that rewards consistency and strategic play.
Organisers emphasized that, apart from caddy fees, participation in the tournament is free, and eligible players are not required to purchase any products or make payments to enter the competition.
Corporate partners are expected to play a key role in enhancing the experience of participants and spectators.
ICEA LION Insurance, the official insurance partner, will showcase its Clubman’s Insurance product, which provides coverage of up to shs4 million for loss or damage to golfing equipment and personal effects, as well as third-party liability during play, practice, or transit.
Kenya Airways, the official airline partner, will reward the winning four-ball team with air tickets, while CFAO will present a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series as part of a hole-in-one prize package. Ruby Hospital will participate as the tournament’s wellness partner.
Speaking at the launch, Noela Byuma, Head of Marketing and Communications at KCB Bank Uganda, said the tournament reflects both sporting excellence and broader business values.
“The ‘Roar on the Green’ theme reflects the confidence and determination required to succeed both on the course and in business. The KCB East Africa Golf Tour provides a unique platform for building relationships and fostering meaningful connections among people from diverse backgrounds,” Byuma said.
She added that the initiative also supports environmental sustainability efforts, including tree-planting campaigns aimed at promoting a greener future.
Tournament Coordinator Paul Kaheru noted that the event offers a platform for regional competition and shared pride, while Golf Director Theodor Van Rooyen said the tournament highlights precision, teamwork, and competitive excellence as Uganda’s top players prepare for the grand finale in Nairobi.
The tournament builds on the success of its inaugural edition, which featured strong competition across teams and individuals. The team “On the Money,” consisting of Gloria Nanyonga, Dipak Patel, Nic Snyman, and Mathew Nviiri, won the overall team title with 111 Stableford points. In the individual categories, Enoch Nuwagaba topped the men’s division with 39 points, while Florence Namara led the ladies’ category with 32 points.
Environmental sustainability remains a key pillar of the tournament. KCB Bank Uganda is advancing its Go Green Campaign, following the planting of 300 trees at Serena Kigo in the previous edition. The bank is working toward a target of planting 15,000 trees nationwide as part of its broader conservation efforts.
The tournament will conclude with activities at the 19th Hole, which will host an All-White Party for players, partners, and guests.
